the ability to upload assets straight to the site as a board owner. at the moment, the only way to use custom assets (image backgrounds, etc) for CSS is to upload them as a post somewhere on the site. it works, but it's a little sloppy. also the ability to add custom fonts for boards would be nice, but understandable if that might cause issues

no clue if this is possible but it would be super cool if like on the right of the screen it has the most recent thread u were in if you're on the catalog or like the catalog if you're in a thead? and maybe have some sort of catalog for l the boards that you've pinned instead of just all or a specific board

this is a good idea and something we'll eventually add, but it'll probably be a while

>>36293
>on the right of the screen it has the most recent thread u were in
I think this may not be what you're talking about but if you click the eye icon in the top right, you'll see a list of threads you've recently posted in, and if they have any new posts

can you provide more details? do you mean something like a smaller version of the full thread itself embedded on the right side of the screen while on

>or like the catalog if you're in a thead?
can you describe more detail here, too? also, do you mean the catalog (from the [catalog] link in the top and bottom left of the page) or the board index?
>>36824

>do you mean something like a smaller version of the full thread itself embedded on the right side of the screen while on
yeah like at least the glegle thread was like moving fast and if you left it there was a lot of stuff to catch up on. yeah. or at least the most recent one that you've been in
>>36830>>71543

like having an active floating chat lobby up on all pages, kind of?

yeah, it's a good idea. since we don't have many active threads yet, due to being so small and new, and since it'll be a complex feature to fully implement, for now i might just always set it to the glegle thread and later allow people to set it to whatever, including pinning a thread of their choice or toggling a setting to always set it to the most recent thread they were in

im this anon
i figured out exactly what i wanted / want. actually being able to see the contents of the thread so you don't miss anything is not it at all. it's not an immediate priority, but i think it will be essential for the site to be able to transition from a few single threads that function like discord channels into many concurrent threads like a proper imageboard or social media that the user can freely drift between:

on twitter there's the trending widget on the right of the screen that persists at all times. all other social media networks have their own form of this, at least youtube, tumblr and reddit do (as i've been writing this out i realized even fandom wikis have it). these panels serve at least two functions: obviously they improve navigation, but they also enhance readability by confining content to only half the screen (which also helps maintain ux continuity between desktop / mobile)
i know the impulse for imageboards is to kinda of have a somewhat intentionally obtuse layout, and certainly to not just copy what mainstream social media does, but i think something like this really is needed. even when the site is pretty small right now, if, like this afternoon, everyone congregates in some random thread for no real reason, power users might check out /srg/ and assume the site is dead when it totally isn't. but also, on imageboards, it can be unnecessarily difficult to figure out which threads are active since there's no algorithm, there's just bumping. bumping is good in some ways, but it has its limits in an attention economy
i think this box should be populated first with active threads from boards that are pinned, then any other active threads from any other boards, then threads that were active in the past day. it would be really cool if it could take you straight to the most engaging part of the discussion, maybe to posts with the greatest numbers of descendants (replies, replies to replies...)?

thank you for this. my team and I are currently discussing it. we really appreciate the effort

>i know the impulse for imageboards is to kinda of have a somewhat intentionally obtuse layout, and certainly to not just copy what mainstream social media does, but i think something like this really is needed.
trust me, we want the exact opposite of this. if we end up pissing off a few oldschool imageboard users in the process of making things more user-friendly (perhaps taking inspiration from mainstream social media apps), then that's an acceptable trade-off. I want to make this site as easy and intuitive to use as possible for both imageboard users and non-imageboard users

FAQ
What is this site?
This site is a live board, meaning that people can see what you type as you type it.
What are those funny commands I see everyone using?
The site has commands (#8ball, #timer30, #this), wormlang (;rotate180, ;flip) and wormwatch commands (.play, .skip). There is also markup, ** for bold, __for italics, and ~~ for strikethrough.
Where can I find a full list of commands?
That’s the neat part; there isn’t a full list. You have to find and document them for yourself, and new ones are always being added.
How do I trip?
To use a name other than “Anonymous”, go to https://brainworm.surgery/name. A new person shaped icon will appear in the upper right of your screen, where you can edit your name. Tripcodes work the same as they do in 4chan, Name#Tripcode or Name##SecureTripcode
Can I create my own boards?
Yes! Boards can be created by going to https://brainworm.rodeo/manage. A new infinity shaped icon will appear where you can create an account that you can use for board creation and management. (Accounts aren’t needed for anything else.)
This seems like a cool site, what’s the catch?
The primary rule this site has overall is that “this is a nice site”. This doesn’t mean that it’s a hugbox or anything, but we’d appreciate if you were to avoid being overtly toxic or rude to others.

It could also work well as an image or something like #yeh

please test it and make sure it's working properly

Can you add more settings for things like disabling image hover (I have an extension that already handles that, so it's annoying) and changing layout? I'd prefer something that looks more like other image boards, like having the replies show to the right of post numbers, and having the reply window movable would be nice, since I prefer it in the top right corner. Also, the reply window doesn't have spellcheck as it is, so that's annoying. And I don't want it to snap to the bottom of a thread when I open it, it means I have to scroll all the way back up.

wormwatch playlist bumping!

reply to a post with a command with a "bump msg"
like or #bump or whatever
and that pushes that wormwatch item up the playlist by one notch

community-oriented playlist orientation... races to make one particular song at the top... sniping the next playing slot in the last few seconds... many such opportunites for fun involvement.
