I think that might be a fun idea, although it would probably work a bit better if yoinks and yeets were disabled. The site overall I think thrives on its gimmicks, and to have a board-specific gimmick could be really fun

that's crazy. haven't heard that name in years. I was on at the very beginning-- probably literally day 1 when it spun out from the girly board on lolcow or whatever it's called. for those early months I think the boards were actually really great and genuine, there were a lot of very genuine efforts to forge meaningful community and create something together on there. after that though I think things spiraled downhill (IME) before I left for good. they started a discord server which was originally fine but eventually ended up needing verification over voicechat to join, I don't think it lasted much longer after that. in addition I believe it was around that time that the admin seemed to take a silent pro-TERF stance or whatever which I think seriously fragmented the community and pushed a lot of people off. myself included if I'm being honest. after that I felt like the whole thing kind of gained the very, sort of... self-hating or just generally negative vibe that stuck to conversations on lolcow. I feel like the people that were there at the very beginning didn't want crystal cafe to be that, so I left. but if it's still going, there must be something to it.

something that kinda gets me about crystal cafe is how much it ended up in common with jp girls-only textboards very quickly. including the discussion about guys pretending to be girls. I feel like it was handled better on the tbs though lol

yeah. after things started to deteriorate, I also remember a lot of the userbase being current and steadfast 4chan users and a cursory glance at the boards seems to confirm that this is still the case (and that the shittiness may even be worse than it once was). not for me.
