「Recima's Baking Blog Chapter 1: White Chocolate Chip Cookies」

Recima
Cookies.jpg.jpg
Welcome to Recima's Baking Blog, the hit new series of threads about desserts and other baked goods! Currently the plan is to post a thread biweekly, (as in once every two weeks; not twice a week,) but this is subject to change. Today's recipe is "White Chocolate Chip Cookies", one of my new favorites, as I've always thought that the "chocolate chip" part of most cookies was overrated. If you'd like to change any part of this recipe for personal use though, feel free to do so, and don't worry about crediting me. (Not unlike how I'm not crediting where I got this recipe from.) Let's begin!

Servings: ~72 Cookies (Picrel shows ~45, but you might want to halve everything because 72 cookies is a lot)
Prep time: I dunno; like 30 minutes? I'll properly time this for future threads)
Cooking time: ~15 minutes per batch, including cooling

Ingredients:
>1 Cup of Butter (2 sticks (Preferably softened or melted)
>1 Cup of Brown Sugar
>1 Cup of White Sugar
>2 Eggs
>1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
>2 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
>1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
>1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
>1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
>2 Cups of White Chocolate Chips

Baking Tools Needed:
>Oven
>Medium Bowl
>Electric Mixer
>Measuring Cups
>Large Wooden Spoon
>Baking Sheet(s)
>Baking Sheet Liner(s)
>Oven Mitt
>Small Bowl for cracking eggs into (Not required, but mildly recommended)
>Small Ice Cream Scoop (Not required, but heavily recommended) (Pic added in comments)

Directions:
>Preheat oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit
>Mix Butter, Brown Sugar, and White Sugar in the Medium Bowl with the Electric Mixer until it is at an even consistency
>Add Eggs and Vanilla and mix them in too (Baking tip: Crack your Eggs into a smaller bowl before adding them to a larger bowl, to make it easier to remove any shell that falls in!)
>Add Baking Soda, Baking Powder, and Salt, mixing them all in
>Slowly add Flour, mixing everything in until it's consistent
>Add your White Chocolate (or other) Chips in, and fold them into the dough with a Wooden Spoon
>Using the Small Ice Cream Scoop, add balls of dough onto the Baking Sheet (with a Baking Sheet Liner underneath)
>Slide Baking Sheet into Oven (Preferably on a rack near the center), and let Cookies bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges start to brown
>When done, remove Cookies from Oven with an Oven Mitt, and set in place to cool (like the top of a stove or a specialized cooling rack) for 3-10 minutes
>Enjoy!

Storage:
I've found that the dough lasts best in the fridge (freezing dough makes it a pain to thaw if you want to re-use it) and that the cookies last well in the fridge too. I assume that something like a cookie jar or similar dish would also be sufficient for storage, but I haven't tested it.

Thank you for reading my Baking Blog, and feel free to comment on any ideas for desserts or other baked goods you'd like to see! If you decide to try making this recipe yourself, I'd love to see a picture of it or any other things you've recently made!

See you next time!

I like the idea and the recipe might actually be simple enough for me to follow.
Thank you, OPerator.

#write a recipe for worm cookies

>1 Cup of Butter (2 sticks (Preferably softened or melted)
>1 Cup of Brown Sugar
>1 Cup of White Sugar
>2 Eggs
>1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
>2 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
>1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
>1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
>1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
>2 Cups of White Chocolate Chips
>1 Cup of Craisins
>Worms (Gummy or Chocolate)

Cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to wet ingredients until everything is combined. Stir in the white chocolate chips and craisins. Place spoonfuls of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place worms on top of cookie dough balls. Make sure to press them in a little bit so they don’t fall off when baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are lightly golden brown around the edges. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely

fyi the character limit here is 10,000, so generally no need to split up posts like on some other sites

I was having trouble with posting the whole thing in one go, and kept getting an "internal server error" (idr the exact issue), but it went away when I split it in half.

Also, is there currently a way to post comments under a name other than "Anonymous"? I've seen it in other threads but haven't been able to see where it's done.

fyi you shouldn't need to click through the scary message, it should vanish on its own if you click the person icon

also there's an easier way: from the front page, add /name to the URL bar, like https://brainworm.rodeo/name and then visit that

#write a story about the necessity of worm gatekeeping
As anyone who's gardened knows, worms are essential for healthy plants. They aerate the soil and help break down organic matter, making nutrients more available to plants. They also help reduce compaction and improve drainage.

But as helpful as they are, worms can also be a Gardener's enemy if their population gets out of control. That's why it's important to keep an eye on your worm population and make sure they're not getting too cozy in your garden beds.

One way to do this is to build a "worm gate." This is simply a barrier that prevents worms from getting into an area where they're not wanted. It can be as simple as a piece of hardware cloth or chicken wire placed around the perimeter of a garden bed.

Worms are vital to a healthy garden, but too many of them can do more harm than good. A worm gate is an easy way to help keep their population in check and your garden looking its best.

OP here, I recommend cutting the recipe in half for around 36 cookies. That gets you around 3 batches of 12,

(cont. cuz I accidently pressed enter) and this can can be split among multiple baking sessions if you save the dough. I'll admit that I was extremely lucky in that shortly after baking the second batch (45 cookies pictured in the original post) I was able to attend an event where I could give the rest away. I am proud to admit though that by the time everyone else was gone only 2 remained, and that I received multiple compliments on the recipe.

>i think 72 cookies is way too many, sorry
<What's the proper amount of cookies?
>
There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on factors such as the size of the cookies and the appetite of the individual. However, a general guideline would be to have 1-2 cookies per person.
