That's the thing. she hasn't even left me for that person yet. She's explicitly framed it as she needs t odecide if she's going to get back with me but there's a, in her own words, very low chance. And she's more likely to pick the other person because, again, in her own words, she has an intense love for her that she doesn't have for me anymore.

Like I think I know what to do now, which is consider the possibility of dating someone else again rather than just seeing this as a binary "I get back with her or I have failed" thing. Like it just felt like I was being "realistic" and it helped to just straight up be told no that's not how it works.
